“A Touch Of Frost” – TV Temporary Track (2011)

Made for another element of the Sound and Music to Image module in a Music Production M.A. The brief in this assignment was to use any music to create the appropriate emotional narrative for the scene.

The video was provided by ITV studios (local to Leeds) with dialogue tracks, SFX, foley and ambiences. There was no music.

To create the desired effect, I chose the classic “Quartet for the end of time” by Oliver Messiaen and managed to get everything I needed from one track.

The project was made in logic working mostly with audio regions and a few custom sampler instruments. There was a bit of time stretching, looping and pitch shifting and quite a bit of volume automation but nothing too wildly creative or groundbreaking.
